Roofing for business premises
A leak in a home is a nuisance. On a business premises it can mean damaged stock, a closed room, an unhappy tenant or a health and safety problem on the shop floor. Commercial roofing is about the same core skills as domestic work, applied with more attention to planning, access and keeping the building usable while the job is done. We've been roofing across Somerset and Devon for 25 years and take on both domestic and commercial work.
Commercial flat roofing
Many commercial buildings, extensions and outbuildings have flat or low-pitch roofs. These tend to collect water, debris and foot traffic from plant maintenance, so the outlets, upstands and edge details deserve close attention. We work with EPDM rubber, GRP fibreglass and felt systems; the right choice depends on the deck, the layout and how the roof is used. Our flat roofs page explains each system in more detail.
Pitched roofs on commercial buildings
Plenty of business premises in market towns sit in older buildings with tiled or slated roofs, chimneys and lead valleys, just like the houses around them. The same faults turn up: slipped tiles, tired ridge mortar, perished flashings and blocked gutters. For individual faults, see our roof repair page.
Industrial roofing enquiries
Industrial units, barns and warehouses vary widely in construction. If you manage a larger building, send us a description and some photos of the roof. We'll be honest about whether it's a job we're the right fit for, and if it is, we'll arrange a visit.
Inspections and planned work
For landlords and facilities managers, catching problems early is usually cheaper than reacting to a leak. A roof inspection gives you a clear picture of the condition of the roof and anything that needs attention, so repairs can be budgeted and scheduled. Ongoing upkeep such as clearing gutters and outlets is covered on our roof maintenance page.
Planning the work around your site
- Access routes and scaffold positions agreed in advance.
- Work areas kept tidy and waste removed as the job goes.
- Noisy or messy stages discussed so they suit your opening hours where possible.
- Clear written quote setting out what's included.
Repairs when something goes wrong
Not every commercial job is planned. Storm damage, a blocked outlet that overflows into a unit, or a leak above a shop counter need dealing with promptly. Where water is coming in, the first priority is making the area safe and watertight, then putting the cause right properly. Our emergency roof repairs page explains how that works. Letting us know the building's layout, who holds keys and any site rules before we arrive helps the visit go smoothly, whether the work is planned or urgent.
